Summarized version is ABSA did it deliberately, to investigate fraud. Workaround is to create a virtual card on your profile and use that. Good practice anyways as virtual cards if they get involved in fraud are much easier to block and replace than a physical card.

Buy a few smaller amounts. If leaving R100 in your Steam account is going to bankrupt you open a free Bank zero etc. account and use that.

Yes, you are correct, ABSA digital card is nothing other than using the banking app, which is then also rejected on Steam. So pointless.

Just open a Tymebank account on your phone, transfer from ABSA and then buy on steam via Tymebank.
No need to go anywhere, just dl the from Google play store.

Did not know that, but that my friends, is why you run dual sim and block calls to the second sim
Do the same with Capitec, gave my data sim's number instead of normal Cell number.
