Absa has trademarked a new logo

The path to more customers so that you don't fail as a bank isn't a change of logo. It's a change in service, policies and price.

There's a reason why your own employees would rather bank with FNB than their employer (even with the benefits offered)

How do you start changing a culture that employees have embraced for 20 years? Disassociate them with the previous values. Logo change isn't the worst start. But yes, it's not the complete answer. Will have to see what pertinent changes occur over the next few years.

And therein lies the problem. It will take them YEARS to change/innovate, not weeks or months. The slow moving molasses of a bank needs to die already.

So they shouldn't try. Rather fire everyone and be done with it. Some magic business advice to be found here...

It's 2018. If you think a logo change will suddenly solve all your issues, then you are dead in the water and it is best if you just close your doors.

It's 2018. If it still takes you years to innovate and/or change your processes/procedures/pricing to be more customer centric and focus on efficiency, then you are dead in the water and it is best if you just close your doors.

By all means. TRY. But changing a logo is a waste of your investors money and a slap in the face of your customers supporting you with the fees they pay to keep you up and running. How about spend the money you are wasting on re-branding in your own systems to do what I sarcastically pointed out above instead?

Can't see my point? Too blinded by your loyalty and love for the brand ABSA created (and is now re-branding at great cost while not improving service levels, pricing or processes to make it more convenient for you as a customer to transact with them?) cool. You do you buddy. Ignorance can go this way --> https://twitter.com (you will love it here and quickly find more of the same thinking/bots agreeing with you)

If you read my earlier response I didn't suggest a logo change is the be all to the problems facing the bank. It is a good start though. I've got no loyalties to the bank, however I wouldn't want a company that hires thousands of people to flop either. Clearly they are aware change is needed, now when they attempt to make it you berate them.

Be happy that they are driving change, or attempting to, at least.
