hey there

trying to do an internet transfer to an fnb account, and it wont accept the universal fnb branch code as the branch code ?

any help

I just tried adding a new beneficiary using the global code 250655, worked like a charm... what error are you getting 4cer?

trying to do a one off payment, it asks for the branch code, type in the universal one, says its invalid?

will making it any fnb branch code work?

Just add it as a beneficiary...no need to worry about the branch code then. I cannot comment about making payments to 'random' branch codes. The banks need to remove the stupid branch codes in any case....

adding as a beneficiary worked. that is so backward!

I had the same problem, this time from Standard Bank. Just wouldn't accept the FNB branch code.

if branch code is 6 digits you got to add 00 at the end.

Edit: its in the small print on the web page. just read each line and you'll see it.

Branch codes act as a second check to make sure the payment is correctly allocated. If that acc number not at the branch than the bank will check first (this is old system)
