So I get a Settlement amount on a Direct Axis loan (I know but circumstances) but settling 2yrs early:D

I go into ABSA online banking and create a once of beneficiary. I do everything and insert the details from Direct Axis meticulously. On pushing next the site changes to "Listed beneficiary" and changes the account name to Westbank Motor Finance and also changes the branch code given to me.

Feeling uneasy that my payment will get lost and I'd have hassles I will wait until Monday and go into the bank and do the payment. My question is my instructions were from DA and ABSA wont allow the payment.

Now paying 2 days later I will need to fork out extra for interest on the settlement date.

Would you have made the payment based on the changes the online made?

I am just ABSAlutely g@tvol of grapsa.

Yea, i HATE how ABSA is handling Pre-Defined beneficiaries like Telkom/Municipalities/SABC/etc and the latest one i had was DHL Couriers.

You get very specific details and then Absa do not allow you to just add them with those details. With DHL , absa want my account # with DHL (but i do not have an account with dhl, just a waybill !). All DHL wanted was me to use a specific reference number. So i could not pay them via ABSA because i couldn't fill in all the fields they suddenly wanted.

I eventually logged into FNB and paid them from there, FNB do not force this BS down.

I had this same sht time and time again. I have started to look at moving to another bank - FNB is at the top of my list - but I am still building up the courage to change my bank account number everywhere.

I made the move. Cancelled my ABSA account in December and moved to FNB. Very happy with my decision.

ABSA is pathetic.
