Hi Guys,

I have been using Afrihost for awhile on their capped data package (mainly because of their double data) but I am wondering if there is not a better option for me? I definitely notice some form of shaping during certain times of the day even though they state it is fully unshaped (10kbps FTP downloads from a server rated for 20Mbps, etc on my 15meg line). Anyway i just want to get some opinions.

basically i want EVERYTHING unshaped.....the absolute fastest, most reliable, well supported capped data on the market right now no compromise.

I work from home (IT) so i wont entertain the shaping of uncapped (which i got burnt with previously) ...i am determined to stick on capped data to make sure i get my full line speed all the time no matter what.

Which capped data packaged have you used? what worked best for you? (I am in Cape Town)

Cause it your basic human right. Your IT company is of absolute critical importance, in fact it's so important you decided to run it from your home.

WebAfrica performs well for me, IS backbone!
This ^^^, can be a solution for you.
I just bought a smallish Business capped account just to test with and it is flying!

The only problem I see with this account ito IT, is that you might have to buy a biggish account in order to have enough "anytime" bandwidth for usage during the day.

I'm planning on getting myself the 450 GB account that equates to 90GB anytime and 360GB after hour bandwidth(00:00 - 06:00).
It is not very likely that I will ever use 450GB in a month, but it is very possible that I can use 90GB during the day.
The bandwidth is unshaped and atm it really, really runs well.

Obviously there is the Business uncapped accounts as well, which might be a better solution for you.

Vox Fat Pipe

p2p seems to be shaped during the day now, and also the random premature capping problem that doesn't seem to be getting fixed.

Other than that, I agree 100%, Vox and IS backbones are solid.

Uncapped is fine if you get a proper account. The home accounts are crap.

But this is amazing:
