So Absolute Hosting has decided to make an extra buck by adding a R10 "late fee" to my overdue invoice. Previously they would discontinue service if your account is in areas. Just a heads up for anyone using them.

So you are not denying you didn't pay, but now kerm about it?

That R10 fee goes towards our beer stash which we use at the end of the year.

Cheers!
Hopefully you are treating yourself to some

You can save your payment details and automatically pay?

In all seriousness though we do send out multiple payment reminders and SMS's to remind clients that they owe us money, and if the OP is willing to share their client code with me then I'll gladly look into the delivery logs to see that those were sent.

In addition, the late fee has always been around and isn't anything new so the part about previously discontinuing the service without the late fee is a lie.

Lastly, we are understanding and are willing to assist clients who cannot make payment in time for what ever reason and we'll gladly put a DNS (do not suspend) on the service until the agreed date of payment. You just have to ask.

What is also irritating about them, they send the Customer Invoice like just after the ability to cancel the hosting has expired. This time I have scheduled my calendar to remind me 1 Aug 2024 to cancel, will just keep my unused domain with them still

Please send me the invoice number and I’ll look into this for you. You can cancel a service anytime before an invoice is generated for that service.

Nah, it's OK,

Just don't like that I get the mail about invoice on *24th, payment due 26th, and when going in immediately on 24th it says something that boils down to "you can only cancel 3 days or more before payment due date, so too late now"

It won't catch me again though.

I’d prefer to get this resolved as there shouldn’t be a status on the service that prevents you from cancelling within 3 days of the service renewal date . Please send me the invoice number so that I can check the service settings linked to your invoice and ensure that it doesn’t happen again?
