So I was burned and I'm really not impressed.

I bought a pair of Smart casual shoes for just under R600 for work purposes from online retailer Zando.co.za in October.
I wore the shoes for about a few weeks (2 to 3 weeks) and the shoes broke. The right shoe tore at the seam and just got busted open for no reason.
I contacted the store politely, mentioned my concern. They did me a huge favour by taking back the product and inspecting it, because the return date of 14 days had passed and they gave me 2 options, to have a credit or to get a refund.

I took the credit option and ordered another pair of shoes from the same store.

Today I receive the shoes and they look like crap, literally. The shoes look really bad. Not like new shoes should look. They look crinkled (yes it's leather, that can happen), but this is due to the fact that it was packaged without separating the pair from each other. There was no crinkle paper in the box. The left shoe looks like it has a red glow effect to it, looks powdery or something and I'm just not a happy camper.

I will never support this store again in my life. I'm really disgusted beyond belief.
They had the opportunity to right their wrong. They had an opportunity to show me that I could be a great returning customer, but instead they made me an enemy and taught me one sore lesson. I will never buy a fashion item such as this online ever again. I was burnt twice and I won't be burned 3 times.

The behaviour doesn't seem consistent.
1) Accepting the broken goods back outside of the 14 day return period, and still offering a refund, without any fuss.

2) Sending you shoes that look like rubbish.

Have you queried the 2nd pair of shoes with them? Perhaps take photos and e-mail it to them? It could be a thoroughly incompetent employee, or employee sabotage.

If this had happened to me, I would first get feedback from the store.

Yes I did. I sent them photos and received a generic response. They have a shipping checklist and my parcel may have been overlooked.
I can send it back for a refund or credit. I've spent 2 weeks on this issue now, back and forth.
I'm not even interested in sending anything back or getting my money back.
I'm beyond furious at their incompetence. I've decided to keep it and shut up. rpm can delete this thread if he wants to. This company is not even worth my effort any longer.

Isn't that exactly what they would want though? They delaying hoping you'll give up

My wife buys shoes from them a lot... never had the slightest issue with either the products or the service.

I battle with getting a good fit using the Zandos size charts (old feet & body :D, 11/12UK in shoes & 2XL in shirts) but they're quite happy to ship items back and forth at no charge until we get it right :)

... I rate their customer service as very good.

Ive actually had wonderful experiences with Zando. Never met an online company so focused on customer service like them. My wife and I buy from there all the time. You dont like something, they send a courier to fetch the item at no cost. Im sorry you had a bad experience, but I am sure if you contact them they will help out. I also think, "shocking service" is a little over the top here.

I will continue to use them... or let me rephrase that... my wife will continue using my credit card with them. Personally we think Zando.co.za is an amazing online store to purchase from.

I found this thread after searching for Zando. My search was to see whether I needed to start a new thread to say how impressed I've been with my first use of their service!

Bought 10 items, very hesitantly as it was my first online clothes order. They arrived at the door today after being ordered last week Wednesday or Thursday. Regular updates via email and online were received throughout the process. And all the goods are as expected and sizes were great. And all of this at dirt cheap prices. R257 for a pair of smart Chino shorts and two smart work shirts and R413 for 4 "smart" t-shirts for me, two for the GF and a dress for the GF. 10 items for R670!

can never buy clothes online ...unless you tried it out and you happy with it

Was thinking the same thing...

^ but at prices like that it's very tempting.

It was part of their "Black Friday" sale but it seems they have regular sales.

I used the same logic. At R60 for a t-shirt I figured that worse case scenario it becomes a sleep shirt... or gardening shirt. As it turns out they look and feel great.

Oh ok. But you're right - at those prices, you can't really lose. An adult Pep t-shirt costs about the same anyway.
