thats the pricing of the PlayonHD and mini.

The DVR should be more expensive - the price I have seen quoted overseas is +- 240 euros.
 
Still 2.0mb/s, i've changed to WPA2 but still getting the speed

Is there anyway i can soft reset the AC Ryan?

edit : Found the reset way, will do it and recreate the Connection

edit : My reset way doesn't work :D will keep googling

New firmware almost upon us it seems... just a bit more testing from what I am reading. Keep your eyes peeled. Here is the changelog :

On mine both the ACRyan internal drive and the external drive just appear on my network...

It shows if you access it through a PC, but i am trying to access the USB1 share through a Mede8er (using 2 x AC Ryan dongles in a peer to peer network) but it is not seeing it

I got my playon! yesterday and immediately formatted the new drive and installed the new firmware at the same time. Thus, I don't know how the old firmware worked. But when I try to "search" the drive for tracks to add to the music library, it reboots the player after a few minutes and when I check to see if anything was added, less than half is in the library. I have just over 20 000 tracks on the drive. Anyone experienced this? I don't know if this would have happened with the old firmware.

Also, the same thing happens when I play certain video files. With some files it reboots whenever I try to play them, with others it rebooted once, but the next time I try to play the same file, it works.

Any wise words?

With the video file, can you download mediainfo and tell us what the details of the file is?
Maybe we can help then, should play everything
 
mmm, its not rebooting when i play video files anymore, it just says unsupported file type. I'll download the app a bit later to check file type. But searching my music to add to the music library is definitely a problem! After a few minutes the player reboots and less than half is in the library. Wonder if a music file or files is crashing the system, similar to what was happening with the movies.
 
Strangest thing, I now cannot browse my player or browse the network from the player anymore. :confused:

Edit : was new firmware, for some reason, went back to old one and now it is working again.

i think i found the problem...i noticed that the id3 tags on about 2gigs of my music was messed up. I removed them from the player and it seems to be working fine now. :-)
 
I just spent the weekend fiddling with ThumbGen and TViXiE and am very stoked with the results! The information is presented in a far more "media intense" format and it also includes more info which I find useful.

Thanks for the help, tried it but no luck. Strange hey? The new FW was so much faster :(
