AC Ryan Playon HD!

What exactly is the status on the Jukebox? What works / doesn't work etc? I see there's been 7 beta releases of Yamj, but 7 was recalled? Can I basically use any firmware then, and just add Yamj?

The unit uses the realtek chipset, so technically it is possible to use other units firmware BUT it would not function the same as the firmware is specifically designed to work with that particular chipset and File system. You could do it but be aware that you run the risk of effing up your media player. There are several movie scrapers available for all sorts of platforms, try one of them in the meantime until the official release of yamj.

from pics I have seen the remote looks exactly the same.

i see that esquire is having a birthday special on the 26th - for the mede8er - R 1499 excl vat.
POHD is R 1 199 excl. vat

Esquire, you sneaky bastard! I didnt even notice it is now 1199excl, and here i was going to buy another one on Saturday :p

I see MP4 is supported. Anyone else having trouble with sound when playing .MP4 files?

no problems here

So just to confirm, the YAMJ is not standard on the unit?
What is the current price on the Play unit?

With the latest beta firmware it is incorporated into the GUI but you still need to do some work on your PC to get it in place. The unit itself does not automatically catalogue all your movies. I don't think there is any unit that does this.

The other library browser merely provides you with a list of your movie titles to scroll through and play.

Cool, thanks, I was under the impression the mede8tor did this from playing around with one. Could be wrong

Is there no other way of getting this device other than being a Dealer with Esquire ?

How long does it take to become a dealer ?

I ask again - really need to know this...

How many radio stations do you guys get on these fancy players?
and is it shoutcast radio stations, or is it actual LIVE Radio stations like 94.7, 5fm and RSG, etc?

I haven't counted them but there are 19 genres with 76 stations under the Rock genre alone.

I'm assuming it is shoutcast channels but there are details on the forum for adding your own preferred channels.
