Instead we get Streep and Day Lewis who, old Oscar veterans, so just shoved in there, because we already know who's going to win.

Man, only seen 2 of the Best Picture nominees. Lots of watching to do.

Not quite as horrid as having to say the sentence, "Oscar-winning film Suicide Squad". Yet, anyway.

It got in for sound mixing, editing and film editing. Fair enough, I think. That aspect of the movie was pretty great, although I really enjoyed it all round.

The only two I really care about are Sam Rockwell for Supporting Actor and Baby Driver for sound. Haven't seen enough of the rest of the films yet to really have favourites in all the categories.

I'd be very happy if she got it, but I've heard The Shape of Water is pretty great, too, with good performances.

That is actually a very strong list of movies, hard to argue except that in my personal view, The Florida Project should unquestionably be a candidate for best picture. I haven't seen many of those but I'd be inclined to give it to Get Out, although I'm keen to see The Post and Phantom Thread still.
 
A common theme on some forums is that James Franco got screwed. I haven't seen Disaster Artist myself to confirm.
 
I think the biggest upset will be Ronan edging it over McDormand and Thomas Anderson over Del Toro. The Academy seems to favour young actresses.

Get Out was good but hardly Oscar worthy. Best picture will be either 3 Billboards or TSoW.

McDonagh didn't get a direction nomination did he? Don't see 3B getting best picture because of that.

I wouldn't be surprised as he is currently under fire from #MeToo and #TimesUp. ScarJo recently took a public dig at him during an LA protest.

And, like, Disaster Artist was kind of mediocre. Certainly not deserving of many awards. Thats just my opinion of course, I think I gave it 6.5 or 7
