Acceptable Line attention & noise Margin? -4MB line.

When I moved over to a 4MB line at the end of last year I swapped over from SAIX to Web Africa and noticed that Streaming actually became slower during certain times like in the evening. My browsing is around about the same and downloads come in at 420KB per second if I am using multiple connections. But Streaming and gaming online spiked, in fact my ping went for a decent 36+- to about 86.

Could this be because my line is not decent enough for the speed or is it the crappy bandwidth I am getting from Web Africa who(to my knowledge) don't have a exchange here in Gauteng and only in CPT?

Does all the information seem fine? From what I can see my DSL Attenuation is acceptable if not good,is my assumption correct? So could my Noise Margin be the problem?

What kind of tier-1 provider does not peer with Jinx? Are there any other providers who dont peer with either Jinx or cinx?

WebAfrica will hopefully peer with Jinx before the end of this year.

Any line attenuation lower than 50dB should be acceptable for 4Mbps, but below 40dB is preferable.
The only thing that you're really interested in is that your SNR margins should be like above 10dB, preferably above 12dB

You don't actually peer with JINX. JINX is a meeting point where you can peer, so once there, you still have to set up relationships with everyone else individually. Most of the bigger guys still make this a hard task to, almost impossible for the smaller guys to get to peer with the big guys even when they get there.

The OP should be more specific to what streaming service he is using so that one can give a more technically correct answer IMHO.
