Hi all,

Please bear with me here... I am moving up from the world of dialup so I have downloads of max 5mb/day (I was on 16kbps due to split lines).

Just how much would be 'too much'? People are talking about "stick to a gigabyte a day"... I barely download 15mb a day (except for day 1, of course!).

Just as a matter of interest for those of us new to broadband.

Erm, dude, you can download 20gigs in one day if you wanted to (and your speeds allows) but like you said, the other days you wont download more than 15mb or something.

Chill

Why do you have to "put your two cents in"... but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?

It would be cool if someone (maybe Noone?) with 512K documented downloading non-stop for a whole month. That way we can see whether Sentech is even watching the bandwidth usage at the moment. I think Noone is the best guy for the job, since he's the most loaded [;)]. That way he can afford the fine or whatever that Sentech *may* impose on him [:D]

We've seen it happen over and over, like in 99% of the cases - due to past restrictions, the chances are you will download the whole of the internet in the 1st 6 weeks and then sit and stare at your modem from then on wondering what to do next [:D]

Correct, that's exactly what I did. I feel my connection is wasting away atm, but also downloaded pretty much 24/7 for the first few weeks.

I'm on 256K package...

When is MyADSL coming to East Rand ??

I'm tired of ADSL and this 3GB BS.

It's almost as if you bought a Merc. You don't sit at home thinking your car is wasting away because you aren't driving it all the time, right? [;)]

Yup, same happened to me .. except it was more like about 6 days when I started wondering "hmm .. what can I download now?" and now I just download stuff when I need/want it, not for the sake of downloading :) Still definitely enjoying it though, especially being able to download things when I want, without worrying all the time about the bill.
