How does one access Compiz Settings Manager? I looked under System > Preferences and it is not there. I have double checked and Compiz is installed.

First off, tell us the name of your Desktop Interface, is it KDE/Gnome?
Distro also sometimes help as not all of them follow the same standards.

For example I know OpenSUSE has it but the icon in the menus are called something else, ie. Desktop effects or something like that.

Whoops, sorry. I'm using Gnome and Ubuntu 9.04.

Editted a typo out.
