I dont want to have to redownload 10 gb for the EU version. Is there a way I can change the version without redownloading it all?

Change the logon details to the EU ones.

search for realmlist.wtf
And change to:

set realmlist eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist eu.version.worldofwarcraft.com
set realmlistbn ""
set portal eu

Heh, I came in to provide similar details :)

I had the same issue many many years ago when I bought WoW for the first time (after having a US version for private servers).

Nice one Synergy!

Didnt work :(...now I need to reinstall. lol, any1 live in pta Elarduspark area? :P

It worked for me before :/ What error? Ask someone to give their file(s). Unfortunately I don't play WoW anymore.

Sorry man

it just logs in, then when I go to realm list etc, game just crashes :P

Does not work anymore... since Cata.

I had a similar issue start of the year when I did not have enough bandwidth to get the expansion.

Ended up getting someone to send me a DVDs with the data. Sorry I will not be able tonreturn the favour as I stopped playing in March

I checked mine and there is a small difference from Synergy's file. You can try that and see if it works. I did search through
Google and it looks like the file should look like this now. http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2226264926

Mine reads as:
set realmlist eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist enGB.patch.battle.net:1119/patch
set realmlistbn ""
set portal eu

Since the Cata patch they split the files... like in a big way. Go check the WOW/Data folder

Example you now have a expansion*-locale-enUS.MPQ, speech-enUS.MPQ files in WOW/data/enUS. Simply renaming the directories and files to enGB does not work either. I have tried that.

You only have 1 of 2 options. Install from scratch or go copy someones WOW folder... save yourself load of time and pain.
