Ok so I received this email today from Blizzard

Greetings,

We are writing to inform you that we have, unfortunately, had to cancel your World of Warcraft account:

Account Name: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Investigation Concluded: 17/04/2009
Type of Violation: Repeated Violation of in game policies
Details of Incident: Racial / Ethnic Harassment
Consequences for Account: Account Cancellation

It is with regret that we have to take this type of action, however it is in the best interest of the World of Warcraft community as a whole, and for the integrity of the game, that we have cancelled your access to the World of Warcraft servers.

Please be advised that sanctions in relation to this matter will not be taken against any new accounts you may wish to create, but the characters from your cancelled account will remain irretrievable. If you should wish to create a new account, you will need to obtain a new and unused CD key with a retail copy of the game.

Should you have other questions or concerns, feel free to contact us again, via our webform: http://eu.blizzard.com/support/webform.xml

Now here's the best part. I'm on vacation here in Durban and haven't used this account for about 3 months. I suspect that my room mate back in the UK has used my account and pretty much nuked it :mad:

Is there any way to get this account back. I'm seriously annoyed and upset because my mage on this account was well kitted out and I always kept this account in good standing for 4 years now :(

Yup, I got banned once, don't try to fight it. If you want to continue playing, buy a new account and reroll so long. You're not gonna get it back no matter what.

sorry i don't play WoW.. but if you get banned you have to BUY a new account? That seems a little harsh to me.. How much do they go for? IMO maybe send them an email explaining the circumstances(your roommate etc). Maybe they will listen to you..(probably not though)

PokerKing, Blizzard WoW admins are inflexible to the extreme.
They have to be because of the sheer size of the crowd that they are trying to keep under control.

Every player is warned on a regular basis to safeguard their passwords and to be nice to other players.

tell them u havent played in few months u think your account was hacked

I suspect that if they reversed it, every banned member will become a frequent holidayer too...:D

Well if your m8 in the UK used it scan in you passport and say your in SA and say you acc was hackt! If they look at the IP they will see this is true, so they will give you your acc back :)

By "Buying a new account", we refer to "starting" a new one, since you pay for your account monthly... There is no cost difference between running 1 account concurrently or starting a new one each month. Only difference is you lose all your characters, in-game items such as gold + gear that took months to achieve.

If I lost my account I simply wouldn't bother with the game any longer.

AFAIK, you have to buy 3x CD-keys (Original, TBC & Wotlk), before you can subscribe to subs.

Greetings,

Your account was permanently suspended due to repeated violations with ongoing racial slur, which is against the Terms of Use (http://www.wow-europe.com/en/legal/termsofuse.html). We take this issue very seriously and would not look to re-activate this account under any circumstances.

It is with regret that we have to take this type of action, however it is in the best interest of the World of Warcraft community as a whole, and for the integrity of the game, that we have cancelled your access to the World of Warcraft servers.

Please note that if our Terms of Use (http://www.wow-europe.com/en/legal/termsofuse.html) are violated, appropriate action is taken on the account, regardless of who was using it at the time.

We would like to remind you that account security is the responsibility of the owner, and all sensitive elements that allow access to the account should be kept secret. Blizzard Entertainment does not permit account sharing, therefore only the original owner should have access to the account.
