Hi,

I just got an sms from some random thing saying they have deducted R20 from my account for my subscription to mesomobi...Problem is I don't know how much i had on my account before so I actually don't know if I really just lost R20... Is there anyway to check for these kinds of things as I have never signed up for any subscription for anything before so I know it could just be a scam to get me to send a sms to stop the service.

Thanx in advance

My bad I prob should have been more specific but I meant my pre paid sim card account on my cell phone, I checked on the vodacom4me site and that only shows me my last 10 smses/calls but nothing about these stupid services.

Ok so it just happened again and this time i checked and it did take money away from my airtime, so now I'm R30 down for a subscription I never took out. So now I really need to know how I can get this sorted out please cause I know 100% for a fact that I have never signed up for any of these rubbish services so how can vodacom activate such a thing without me ever knowing?!

Exact same thing happened to me 2 years ago. I bought a Vodacom sim and Vodacom had failed to clear my number on their systems- they thought I was still the lady who had the sim before me. When I bought the sim I had a lot of airtime on it, like R150. Everyday for the next week I lost R10 from my balance.

I phoned Vodacom and they said that I had taken out a subscription to receive some Love poem crap each day. I told them that I had just bought the sim and that I had not taken out any subscriptions.

Vodacom did nothing at all to help me. I phoned the subscription service and believe it or not they sorted the whole thing out for me- they sent me new airtime and stopped taking money from me as well as apologised (!) :D

So my advice- be very very pushy with these guys, it took me 2 solid days of phoning (yes it did cost me $ but it was the principle of it). Call Vodacom first and see if they can block these guys from taking your airtime. If that doesn't work then try your luck with the Subscription guys directly. Good luck!!!! and don't take their crap

Thanks Lush, Strangely this has actually been an easy mistake to recitify, I emailed their customer support, got an email about 20 minutes later along with an sms saying that I am now unsubscribed to their service and they are planning to refund me all my money which I am just waiting for now... A very stupid service and company if they let things like this happen but not a bad customer service department at least :)
