Acer beats HP

People go for cheapness more than quality. :(

But they will regret it in the long run.

Thats debatable. I have seen some shocking HP's out in the market and the service has also been questionable from HP.

Yeah I've also seen a lot of people complain about HP's service
I've never had an issue with any of my Acer products. Only have an HP printer which doesn't give me any trouble either.

I love my HP laptop, printers and digital camera... but I do agree... my iPAQ was a little disappointing.

I haven't needed support for the laptop... which I guess is a statement in itself.

When it came to support for the iPAQ, HP referred me to their agents who were a total bunch of clowns.

so yes... I have to agree a lil bit.

I'd still choose an HP laptop over an Acer one though! ;)

I have had a few HP's come past my desk and a few Dells lately and I must say those Dell's have been really impressive.

btw, the most disappointing thing about the HP iPAQ was Windows Mobile 6. ;)

but there were a few niggly design and performance issues... not to say that the latest iPAQs were really really late in coming to market!

IMO, it's the other way round. I have had so much cr.p with HP and Compaq notebooks and very little problems with Acer Notebooks. The only problem with the Acer notebooks is the local support. That aside, I have had 3 HP notebooks of which 2 had problems and 2 Acer notebooks of which neither had problems.

I guess it all comes down to personal experience.

We have had two Acer laptops for our company MD... the first one was seriously under-powered (blame us for not buying right), but the second one had problems with audio jacks not working, buttons falling off, etc. It just looked like cheap junk to me. The HP zv series I bought in the USA in 2005 has been a solid machine! Great parts and stability.
