Hey guys its me again - I have an Acer Travelmate 260 Notebook here. The thing with this thing - you have to press and hold the "Fn" key if you wanna type certain letters or it will come up as characters!
eg. P = -, O = 6, M = 0, etc, etc
Does anyone know whats up with this thing and how to solve it?

ahem, my speciality.

your numlock is on.
switch it off...normally hold the Fn key and press "numlock" once.

you can try threatening it, but you have to have the right authorative tone of voice else it wont work.

failing that, it'll either
1) maintain the state it was in the last time you set it...i.e. either on or off the whole time
2) if there is an option in the bios, it'll respect that, so check the bios and if it mentions nothing about numlock, then section 1 above will be the way it works.

PS - i tried threatening it - but it just laughed at me - LOL - enjoy da night
