G'evening guys

My boss is looking @ replacing her current lappie for an Acer Travelmate. I know the company's nominated IT support is gonna provide a ridiculous quote for one of these. The current lappie (HP) is on AC for the whole day (possibily overnight as well) and seems to have served her well.

I've checked PC Zone's price @ R 8999 but it's an AMD, I would recommend Intel. Laptop Direct has a lot of models - difficult to decide. The basic spec. should be c2d, 2gig ram, Windows XP Pro (though most lappies now come with Vista Business), was actually thinking of recommending this to her http://www.laptopdirect.co.za/laptops__acer.php?cat=172&brand=97&page=7. Nice with both OS's included.

Can you guys advise further please.

Thank you all in advance :)

I have an Acer Travelmate, and so do a couple of work collegues... about 70% have had battery's failing after the first year...

Why does she want to go from HP to Acer? I know people are not impressed with HP's service, but hopefully it'll never have to go for a service anyway... they are solid machines. Acers have this annoying tendency to lose their bits. if she was happy with HP before, let her stay with HP.

Agreed... HP are the top sellers for a reason
