AdBlock Plus gets special independent board

So companies can pay to let adverts through,so they have monetized the whole thing and turned it into a toll scheme for the internet adverts highway.Rather pathetic turn of events then.

Also the first thing that crossed my mind. Why do they need a board to decide this, when it's been working just fine all this time? This just opens the way for allowing companies to pay to allow their ads through...
Make sure you also download the Adblock Browser for your Android device!

Not after this. I will be seeking an alternative...

uBlock Origin guys.

Lightweight and just as efficient.

Agreed. Defeats the point of having an ad blocker :/

Companies don't learn.

Piss off your users, they will find an alternative. There's plenty out there. Just because you won this years popularity contest doesn't mean there aren't contenders coming for your crown.

What is an acceptable ad? The amount of money they pay to exclude themselves?
Will Adblock eventually give users the monetary option of excluding "acceptable ads"?

I smell corporate sellout.

I honestly don't have a hard time with ads. I've never used Adblocker, if a site has adverts that annoy me so much I just leave the site, simple.

I don't mind ads- an independent decider on acceptable ads is great. No sounds/popup/flashy distracty thingys, and I'm fine.

Reminded me to unblock MyBB on the new PC :)

# of Ads /page also matters. So far solution is block all possible
