Hey folks! I just started WoW again, after having been absent since 2007.

At the moment I'm utterly lost and spending most of my days dancing around Org (which I totally don't recognise anymore).

I have a level 70 Lock at the moment and would like to level him up. My biggest problem is Add Ons. I miss my old ones, but cannot recall which ones I had.

Could you guys and gals, please recommend some basic/mandatory Add Ons that hopefully will make my WoW experience a lil better?

Thanks!

For me currently I use:

Tukui
DeadlyBossMods
Decursive

That's basically all I need for a complete easy setup that does about everything you want for normal day to day playing/raiding

Thank you! Those Addons look pretty cool!

Is Curse Gaming still safe to use?

Really depends on what kind addons your looking for. I use the following:

Sexy Map - Pimp out my mini map
Auctioneer - Auction House
Auctionator - Auction House
X pearl - Unit frames
Recount - DPS meter
Bartender - Custom action bars
Deadly boss mod - Dungeon / Raid encounters
Healbot - Healing
Titanpanel - Bar with lots of helpful info
Questhelper once it gets updated.
Gearscore / Playerscore - Shows useful info about gear
Bagnon - Makes all your bags on big bag.

Those are the main ones I can think of now. Sure I missed a few

A few I use:

NUI - UI addon all-in-one
Carbonite - Map addon like Questhelper, but waaaay better.
Decursive
Xtolevel
Gathermate 2 - For professions
NPCscan - For finding rare mobs for achievements
Auctioneer
Recount

And yes, Curse is safe...I don't use anything else

I second Carbonite. Probably the most usefull add-on I have when it comes to leveling and traveling the world. Well worth using, especially if you're feeling lost.

The posts above pretty much cover all the basic ones.

Have a look at "Quartz" very useful for a caster especially in SA with our latency. This is also from Curse.

You don't need carbonite anymore with WoW's ingame quest tracker. The Gearscore addon should DIAF.

Just remember with each addon your lat goes up a bit or your FPS goes down a bit and using 10 or 15 addons can make a big difference in your latency. Cosmetic addons can cause alot of latency issues and with every big update you have to configure it all from scratch again.

I use Auctioneer on my bank char only.
Quartz on all the casters and my huntard.
Clique on my shaman and druid for healing purposes.
Decursive on all the chars that have that function.
NPC_scan, DBM and recount on all my chars.

Wow thank you VERY much for the list of Addons guys! I really appreciate it.

I recall Titan Panel and Xperl. Loving Curse Gaming's new App.

Re-rolled an Alliance Worgren Druid and am loving it.

Thanks again!

I'm generally light on mods.

The ones I use are:
IceHUD: Puts health and mana bars in the center of the screen, both for yourself and your enemy. It also has counters for things like combo points for rogues and ferals, and you can add custom ones, like shields and maelstrom for shaman.
Omen: Threat meter. I'm surprised nobody mentioned this one yet.
Recount
DBM
TomTom: Shows your position coordinates on the map, as well as your cursor. You can also add waypoints, which shows a waypoint arrow on the hud.
Auctioneer
Auctionator: Less clunky mod similar to Auctioneer that I started to use recently. It has a short scan time, and can do exact searches. No longer getting results for embersilk cloth if you search for "silk cloth".
VuhDo: Healing addon.

Omen: Threat meter. I'm surprised nobody mentioned this one yet.
I would but I just use the addon called Recount: Threat wich just adds a threat meter in recount itself. Just helps keep my ui nice and clutter free:)
