Adding 2nd battery, help please

Question please. My AC in line runs from the DB to the changeover switch, and then to an AVP (auto Voltage protector) then to the breakers for AC in and AC out. Then to inverter.

Where in this line should I fit the plug. ? The change over switch is on inverter

1: in between the changeover and AVP ?
2: After the AVP and before the breakers ?
3: after the breakers and before the inverter ?

Exactly where the AC line gets into the changeover, remember, anything after the changeover can either be inverter or AC fed depending on which direction you have flipped the switch, which might cause comms issue for your meter

Thanks, not what I wanted to hear, there is no room between my DB and change over switch. The switch is on inverter now and I am running on Solar/battery/utility.

I installed the 2nd battery, balanced and charged it on it's own and then combined. Must have decent BMS inside as both pack voltages are reading the same.

Does this pre paid meter have to be connected all the time, I am assuming so.

They should read the same as they are in parallel.

The plug doesn't have to physically go between the DB and changeover. You just need to tap into the connection (i.e. the actual line) before it hits the changeover.

Just call an electrician, tell him that you want the plug on the Eskom line, before it hits the changeover. Then show him where you want the plug, and let him sort it out for you...
