Additional Phone on MTN?

I have an MTN contract (took out form MTN directly) - the anytime/whatever 220 that I took out beginning of this year. I got an Omnia with it. Now I want another phone and I know that I can either buy one cash or I can take out another contract and use the phone I get with that. This seems the way most people do it.

Both of the options mentioned have big drawbacks though. Whether it be the ridiculous price of a handset, tying myself in for 24 months on a new/additional contract etc.

Before I do any of that, is there not a possibility that I can get another phone on my current contract? I would rather pay an additional couple of 100 every month on the remainder of my contract than go the routes mentioned above.

Or is there another, better way of doing it?

Basically you want another phone, but don't want to layout a bunch of cash up front, and you are thinking that signing a 24month contract is an option.

What you're REALLY looking for, is finance for a new phone phone. I'm sure you can get this from any store - try Woolworths, Edgars, Truworths etc. Or just try your local MTN / Vodacom / Cell C shop.

What other phone are you looking for ?
Why not sell the Samdung on bidorbuy and but the other phone you want ?

I believe those stores require an in store sim card activation plus RICA on a new prepaid number though.

May be better if you do not want to sign a new 24 month Contract?

My daughter dropped her cellphone (Topup package) too costly to repair, so I just got one on prepaid for her and dumped the simcard.
