Addressing Rain network problems and poor support a top priority - ARC CEO

African Rainbow Capital Investments (ARC) co-CEO Johan van Zyl admitted that Rain’s network quality is not good enough and that they are working hard to address the problems.

ARC released its interim financial results on 18 March 2021 which revealed that its 20.37% shareholding in Rain makes up 27.3% of the fund’s total value.

As the largest contributor to the ARC fund’s value, Rain plays an important part in the company’s success.
 
The network was bad pre covid.

He failed to address transparency and how they are intentionally throttling vpn usage.

A large chunk of your customer deserve a refund.

You are also dodgy for expecting payment upfront for the R479 uncapped package.

I have requested a refund multiple times but fell on deaf ears.

The R479 uncapped package was used 2 weeks and then thrown in the bin. Your speeds were beteeen 0.5mbps and 1mbps.Loading a page was unreasonable.


Me : I cant download a 100mb file from kaspersky. The Internet is so slow and a 100mb file shouldn't take 3 hours to download.

Agent : Sir, Rain is mostly used for streaming. It isn't mean't for downloading files.

Me : But I'm updating my anti virus.

Wtf?

Rain should have been sued a long time ago and faced heavy fines from ICASA.

Poor customer support is an understatement. It's laughable.
 
I'm watching this space as it seems vuma is likely to become the next telkom, recently canceled rain 5g premium after repeatedly being told to move my router, in my case, with a backup battery and a little drive to a neighboring tower, because they can't be bothered to fix my tower or to actually get a support tech to call and assign my Sim permanently onto the tower, I keep having to drive to. That went on for months.

To say you have any support is a joke, I am the support for your sad offering.
 
One can only fit so many bits in a hertz of spectrum!


Only short term solution is to chuck spectrum at the problem

I mean they promised the Rain App usage screen would start working,
almost 3 months now, still isnt working.

I humbly apologize for the delay with of the usage screen on the app, we are working on it and will have it up and running ASAP.
 
@rain_mobile I have not been refunded, as per our conversation on 19 March. Can I get an update regarding my refund?

Will I be refunded?
