Adhd, so now we have to feed our children pills to make sit still cause the teacher is 65 and can’t handle active kids.
This little girl grd 2 is an a student sings on stage all her projects get done,
She likes playing in the grass with the boys, sitting still is a bit of a problem if you bore her.
But when you keep her intrigued she sits still for hours.
Now the teacher is complaining saying she has adhd because she is not behaving like a girl.
She is 8 what the hell does it matter that she finds playing with the boys more interesting than playing with the girls.
Yes she has got energy the kid lives in a apartment block and the only time she runs around is at school with her friends.
Then the teacher has the audacity to encourage children not to play with her cause that’s not what girls do!!!
The teacher also complains that when the girl gets in trouble and gets reprimanded she doesn’t cry like the other children, she takes the punishment quietly.
So when did that become adhd?
And how come did the substitute teacher think she was a joy to have around.
Maybe its just time to get the old regime out off our schools to. So the children with the real problems can get help.

Do we help our children become more fat by feeding them pills to sit still? Just because we do not have the time or patience to let them just be children.

I see... What you say does make sense somewhat I just think that the entire education system is a fsck-up from start to finish.

I agree. This kid is normal and doesn't bother me when i'm near her and i am allergic to kids.

Your kid is prob not ADHD... and NEVER take the word of a Teacher or any other unqualified person. The teachers job is to educate the children, not try and diagnose them with conditions such as ADHD.

If you suspect that the child is AHDH or has mental problems, go and get a professional opinion from a psychologist...

IMO ADHD is used as a scapegoat condition nowadays.

ADHD is a personality type. If your kid has ADHD, Ritalin is the bong.

Also, if you or your partner smoked at all during the pregnancy, the chances of your kid having ADHD are pretty high.

.

According to DSM 1V it's a personality disorder- invented by Psychiatrists of course, but in this day and age, it's been used and abused as a catch-all term by parents and teachers for kids who just don't conform or who are simply unmanageable. Cut the kids sugar intake and increase the omega 3 oils and there's absolutely no need for ritalin.

...back in 1997-1998
i supposedly had it, and it *just* went away

only thing i got out of it was pills/ritalin from my dad (yes doctor in the family), which i believed damped my total martial arts ability as felt if always had less ki the days i used it amongst other things.

imho its a load of crud.

-what can i say, school was totally ****ing boring and pointless; maybe thats why i had so little attention for it. for example why in the nine hells would i want to re-prove some idiots mathematical statement of its already been done...just me, i guess so

Why do athletes do the same exercise drills over and over again? Why do bodybuilders lift weights over and over again?

In our education system it is sometimes necessary for kids to sit down and listen and to STFU. If they can't do it there's going to be problems.

LOL... that has got to be, the dumbest quote i have read all week.

Look at some people that didn't go to school - don't you feel awesome that you did go?

I didn't like school much either, but am gratefull for the few things they did teach me....

Oke so the kid has got it. The doc said so. Now the medicine is R1000 a month and the doc R800!!
Is there a generic for Ritalin?

The kid will grow out of it , I was hyper as **** and I didnt take any damn drugs - im still hyper at times but meh drugs dont solve **** - dont do it to the kid.

J

dude, ritalin sucks.
i have adhd, not hectic adhd but was bad enough for my old psychiatrist to give me ritalin.
it depressed me, i hardly wanted to do anything. i lost the will to socialize and all that.
so i went to a new psychiatrist, explained everything to him and told him that i only really take ritalin when im studying so i can concentrate. instead of ritalin he gave me concerta which i now take whenever im studying, doesnt depress me or make me dull. just makes me focus and concentrate.
and yes, sugar is evil.

It always has been since I was small. Schooling in general needs a revamp to make it more appealing to the youngsters. Although I must say the syllabus has changed a lot and the new subjects they do seem way more interesting than what most of us in our late twenties did back in the day. They have subjects like Technology, which we used to beg for.

I was a chatterbox at school and that was always a problem. I don't see why kids should be made to shut up all the time. Let them be and they won't try to rebel. Talking is a lot better than causing nonsense. The same with a little hyper activity. But don't feed them pills, if the teachers can't handle it its there problem, find another job.

Too much sugar in this child's diet is the main cause of his/her behaviour.

My personal experience is that I got into serious trouble for NOT talking in class.
I was taught to shutup in class from when I was very young like everyone else, was always good with that. Other side of the spectrum I guess.
