Adobe Creative Suite software moves to cloud-only subscription model

No, the full apps get installed on your machine, cloud is ised for storage (like drop box) and other apps u can download, also the new Kuler app is intergrated via cloud.

So do you need to be connected to the internet for the applications to work?

Only once every thirty days for monthly subscriptions, though they do grant you a three month grace period if you don't have Internet access over that period.

Well it makes sense them moving to this model, it means the local agents get screwed though unless you are forced to buy your subscriptions from them?

Of course it makes sense to them, they're making a load of extra cash gradually rolling out small feature enhancements without having to stick to a major upgrade schedule. For someone like me though who upgraded PS only every two iterations it's going to be too expensive to justify paying their monthly ransom to use the software. I'll stick with Photoshop cs5 for as long as I can then look elsewhere.

For me its damn with it, i use ALL the Adobe products.

I'm a pretty heavy Illustrator user and I'm going to upgrade to Photoshop CS6 while it's still around. That should tide me over for a few years after which time something else should be available.

Well im going to be using alot ot the digital publishing suites, in design, etc etc, also integration with mobile devices, so for me i kinda need all. I understand if u only using PS and Il, CS6 would do the job for a long time still.
