When select print setup in Adobe Reader it shows Letter as the paper size. Now how do I change that to A4 permanently.

Isn't this changed on the printer itself?

Right click printer -> properties -> printing preferences

When at the printers' properties, general tab, at the bottom under features. What is the available paper size(s)?

none there.

It works on another machine fine as they have A4 set and they are printing to the same printer.

Yeah, but do you use a print server, networked printer or shared on the other pc where it is working?

I am trying to recreate your problem here, but mine stays on A4. Which ver reader are you using? I am using Reader 9.

I know this ain't helping, but I am trying to change mine to letter, but it keeps on going back to A4. :o I still think it works with your printers' paper size...

I think it works with printer paper size as well. Go to your printer in Control Panel, right click and select Properties. Go to the Advanced Tab. Click Printing Defaults, and make sure that the paper is set to A4 there. It's something that sometimes gets overlooked.

Hope this helps.

The paper size has been saved in the document you are trying to print. many printers have an option to auto resize letter to A4, loo in your printer options from the file/print screen. If the option isn't there, you can probably override the paper size at the printer. How, is dependent on the printer. RTFM.
