Adoption agencies

Me and my wife adopted two girls (sisters). It started as foster care and then moved to adoption. Think why the whole process was a lot easier

wow, awesome news! what happened? how old were they?

Yeah, was 13 years ago. I don't immediately think of her as adopted. I think of her as my daughter, in the same way I think of the other two that carry my genes.

Has she ever asked about her biological parents?

Has she ever asked about her biological parents?

Yeah, she knows she's adopted. I guess it's even more complicated cause of the divorce and new marriage. It has challenges, but I have a good woman at my side. Thank the Lord, cause I was dreading the menstruation talk as a single parent, single male parent.

So I was not sure whether I should create a new thread or necro one but I figured there is some info here that might still be relevant and valuable.

Where do we start? From what I understand there is a register that you need to get onto in order to start the adoption process?

Any of you out there with some experience on the topic? I assume it must be quite a stressful time?
So I figured Ill necro this thread one more time. Im not on any social media but wanted to come back here because this is where it all started.

My wife and I are in the final stages of adopting a baby. All thats left to do is to get the adoption order from the court, get the court order registered by the department of social development and then do the name change. The court appearance is the big big step.

It was a hectic journey but we finally have some light in the end of the tunnel.
