ADSL 24/7 connection? Yes, but not in South Africa.


Another day whereby ADSL 24/7 connection was not 24/7. Lmao at … (whom do we laugh at?) I wonder, is it Telkom? Is it all the other ISP’s?

I woke up Sunday morning (20th November 2005) and wanted to check my e mail, guess what? You’re right! Once again, I could not.

Is this not getting out of hand?

Are there any capable lawyers that can take on the culprits? Be them whomever? (my guess is that there are not)

I would love to see this in the USA, Canada, Australia, etc, etc, etc … this problem would be resolved within hours, not years.

I called Telkom (ADSL) 0800375375 and they told me that there were no problems with Authentication, when I argued the point, they gave me a guest account
(test account) to test the Authentication and connectivity and guess what? I was able to connect … my question if you remember correctly was “whom do we laugh at?”

To put our minds at ease we desperately need the SNO
 
Remember, it a "Best Effort Service". thats all they'll tune u, and theres nothing u can really do about it.
 
I asked if I could pay my account on a best effort basis. They didn't think it was funny...

lol that is pretty funny.... I have often thought about that... In all fairness that is what should happen. But now I guess I am just getting carried away :cool:
 
My ADSL was down most of Sunday, my ISP said that almost all non-TelkomInternet users could not authenticate..
