How do Nashua Broadband get to sell 2Gb Verizon unshaped + line rental for R255?!
Not a bad starting point, then get the rest of your gigs elsewhere.
That Verizon unshaped thingy is a great service, I just cut it cos of price.

Please do this again but without the line rental people?!
I was also very surprised to see the prices. Their 1 GB service for R 195 is also not bad seeing that it is unshaped - I think they have to compete with MWEB and hence dropped their prices to either below cost or close to it.

Yep. A South Effrican fool and his money are soon parted

That's why we need more articles in the press. People are not informed. The forum members must not complain about articles that state the obvious. (obvious to us) Most people don't know much about the telecoms situation in SA.

I've look at those and found some catches.

* Cybersmart doesn't allow you more than one location nor do they allow you to use a different ISP(Say you want and IS uncapped on the side or something) which isn't that bad but it something to consider.

*SOAL afaik doesn't allow P2p.

Still looking for other catches.

Well i am using Cybersmart for a very long time now and once i use my bandwidth i switch to other ISP's. I know its against the 'rules' but i have been doing it all this time ( 2 years ).

It has come to our attention that many people are so anxious to subscribe to our service, that they just don't seem to find the time to read the terms and conditions. This is not a good thing, because if you don't read them, you may find that the service costs you more than you expected because sometime there are penalties if you infringe a condition
...
At first glance it may appear that the restrictions are "ridiculous" or "too restrictive", however, each of these restrictions has a logical reason for being there and these reasons are listed right at the bottom of this document or in the FAQ under " What are your reasons for all the restrictions in ..." . If you do a price comparison you will find that we offer the cheapest 3Gig service by far and on some line speeds we are almost half the price of our nearest competitor and more than 3 times cheaper than others.

I just wish that Axxess can get their line orders back, because atleast they allow more than one ISP to be used...
Ai, and I am also waiting for Telkom to convert my line to normal from prepaid.. and then Axxess / whomever can help me to ADSL//

I see months of frustration ahead ...

Alternate Offerings

We now offer you Shaped / Unshaped / Local on a single login account. Once your blended UnShaped / Shaped is used you automatically switch to local only and obviously pay at the lower rates.

We are also going to be offering an option to select what traffic you want to use primarily via our control panel. This will allow you to select local only for instance and disconnect the session and your session will connect with local only until you set it to a different type like shaped / unshaped. Effectively you then have the option of Shaped / unshaped / Local all on one account selectable, and each will be charged at the respective rates.

Currently our systems switch from Unshaped > Shaped > Local once each of the caps are used all using a single account..
