ADSL 384kbps, line stats, Telkom...

Yeah, it certainly does take forever.
2 weeks ago there was a power dip and my router reset. After the reset, I couldn't sync at all. I'm guessing it fried the post somehow. My dad had the same Billion 5102, so I tried his. And it worked. We bought 2 of them, cause we were planning to both get ADSL. lol But he got IBurst in the end. So I did have a back up router luckily. But I want a better one now.

I do not believe Telkom will do anything for me... but maybe that router will work. If it can resync within 30 seconds, that would help. Cause Team Fortress 2 times out after 3 0 seconds. ^^

I'll run Routerstats tonight 6-6. Should I make it a 12 hour graph or what settings must I use? Seconds/points?

the netgear 834gt can get you back within 5 seconds - but 3 i doubt....its better than the 15-30sec the 5102g takes.

the plot - as you wish - the plot size you can adjust afterwards..the interval must be fixed b4 you start.

another thing : if you somehow get another tech to come out after all of this..try and sit with him or stand next to him when he works on the aircables.

and never close the damn ticket....request a special investigation - a few highlevel network specialists might start to even call you - and just tell them EVERY time your story...

in my case , i even had the regional manager come to my home.

Oops, I typed 3 0, I mean 30 seconds. 5 seconds is great. :)
Last time I did stand outside with the guy. And he couldn't find anything wrong with the line. The call centre guy was actually more help. He actually told me what was wrong before I could.

I said, I want to report a ADSL fault he said please wait till he runs some tests. Then he said he sees I have a intermittent sync issue. Which is spot on... so I thought. Hey, this is going to get fix now. But no, sent out the same idiot that doesn't know anything.

alrighty....

1 - log a 12h plot with routerstats
2 - request a special investigation - if they don't want to help call regional customer care and ask for a special investigation.

I'm sure I put it on Thursday evening, Friday morning it wasn't running... I must've closed it for some reason. I'll do it tonight.

Also, happy day, I've been losing sync since yesterday. Still do at this moment.
