i had the use of a 4096 line for a week and a bit, did about 3.5 to 3.8 gig a day.so it got to 80% to 85% of max
Interesting scenario. I have a Dell Latitude notebook connected with Cat5 100Mbps and a regular desktop connected in the same way. The desktop gives me 1Mbps on international and 3-4Mbps local. The notebook gives me around 400Mbps international and 800 local. Both using nat on the same router via same switch - no PPPoE. Hmmmmm!
What happens when you try using the exact same cat-5 cable with the notebook that your desktop PC is attached with?
The report echos my experiences as well:
Telkom 4M ADSL is much slower than VC HSDPA on the international link.
VC HSDPA shows intenational web pages usually much faster than Telkom super ADSL inspite of the difference in advertised speeds.
Thanks for telling me that MTN is limiting uploads to a rediculous 64k. Yesterday I advised a client loyal to MTN to get the E220 type modem contracts. I already called him and he was shocked that the company he is loyal to offers such a rediculous service.
You are incorrect, see the following:MTN is not limiting upload - HSDPA technology does not allow for faster upload. You have to wait for HSUPA to have a faster upload.

Unfortunately I don't know the correct release names|versions, I would like to replace HSDPA-1 & HSDPA-2 & HSUPA-1 & HSUPA-2 with the correct release names, but I wasn't aware that 7.2Mbits/s HSDPA could be implemented independently of ~2Mbits/s HSUPA.Only noticed now you missed a HSDPA-3: 7200/384.

Did the standards people not continue with naming standards similar to 3G-R99I'll ask the clever guys for the names but I suspect they might just be HSDPA 1.8, HSDPA 7.2, etc.
