Hi Guys,

I'm currently paying R1199 for ADSL and line at 10MB with Crystalweb - I also have an Afrihost account as backup for R199 a month.

But when I try to stream via FTV (Kodi, XBMC) any channel it works and then slows down now and again. If I swop to Afrihost it works a little better but also here and there slow response.

Just not working out for me. Seems better very late at night and very early in the morning which makes me think somewhere there is an issue.

Ideas?

if you're on uncapped you are probably getting shaped. i would suggestwork out how much you actually use and get a capped account. if you are already on capped, apologies, moving along.
 
Yes have uncapped with crystalweb and capped with afrihost.

Tried both and also second hop on tracert gives me nothing no both.

Hence I'm assuming congestion? or port issue at exchange?
 
Your traceroute to bbc.co.uk looks fine but I'm guessing you ran it this morning, try it again tonight around 20:00 and see what it looks then as you could have a congested exchange at peak TV streaming time.
 
Tried it last night aswell same thing. Seems the same whenever I do it. Checking it now everyday this past week. Always the same 2nd hop dead nadda

Get in touch with CW support - they're pretty solid when it comes to helping through problems.

try streaming from something else, besides Kodi/FTV.. Netflix/Hulu as an example. Kodi 15.2 Isengard has been a bit problematic for me in terms of lag lately, so ive downgraded to 14.2 Helix i think, and its going better, and im on a 2mb line.
