So finding out that my exchange isn't ADSL enabled (apparently), even though it's a fairly big one, got me wondering. What percentage of Telkom's exchanges are actually enabled?

Are there stats on this anywhere, or maybe even a list of enabled exchanges? I'm just wondering if there are only a couple, or if it's abnormal for my exchange to not be enabled.

I would also like to know that.

Where do you stay?

Another thing I would like to know is, which exchanges are ADSL2+. :o

If you goto Telkom's website, and look under availibility you can now see what towns/suburbs are supported.

Used to be fill in your phone number and see if it's enabled, but now there is a drop down aswell with all the places supported.

https://secure1.telkom.co.za/app/dslavailability

I don't really trust that, though, because that's what I used to check whether my exchange was adsl enabled - which it said it was, only for WebAfrica to say that it wasn't :(

You will need a contact within Telkom - Autos exchange section as they have a directory with all the exchanges listed in the country, exchange model & type. ie Siemens EWSD DLU or Siemens EWSD DE5. Maybe it contains info whether they are ADSL enabled
