ADSL - Identify Lag/Disconnect Issues

Hey guys,

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction on how to go about identifying my problem on my ADSL line.

I have a 4MB line and have never had a days problem with it (besides when we were load shedding).

For the past month, the lag on gaming has been hectic, so much so that I would have to leave a group that I'm playing with due to the lag I'm causing. Just bought The Division, and lag is an issue here, even when I'm playing alone and after an hour or so I get kicked out and have to log back into the Ubisoft server. I've asked around and they experienced these issues on the launch of the game but has since been stable.

On Destiny, when playing with a group my connection would drop to Poor!

Been with Axxess since January and never had any issues up until a month ago. I'm on a CAPPED package.

Now, my internet is always up and running, my downloads perform as expected on a 4MB line. So surfing, download, general use is perfect........gaming not so much!

Any advice/help would be appreciated.
 
Have you tried another ISP?? Always good to try another ISP to rule out your current ISP.
 
a few things to try
-phone Telkom and reset your port.
-Change wi-fi password maybe someone is downloading where you can't see it.
-if pc is on wi-fi change to lan cable.
-borrow a friends router.
-try a free account from another ISP.
-try using the router without filters.

One word : ASSIA, check your router stats and see what your interleaving value is. If higher than 1, then welcome to the sweet world of DSMS aka ASSIA :P..served with higher DL speeds (and sometimes lower depending on your line) and high ping. See below thread
