Telkom enabling ASSIA and driving me nuts

Hi there.

Please Telkom Please do not enable ASSIA ever on our lines as for me as a gamer it means I have a ping of 100 now instead of 10-30. This just drives me nuts and want to scream. Sorry for the rage but I keep on having to ask Telkom here to remove it for me. This is giving me a really bad experience online.

When I play BF4 on MWeb server my ping is usually between 10-20 but now it's about 80-100. So please never enable it on my line no matter what cause it's pathetic having to ask the whole time and on weekends I most probably have to wait till Monday to get this fixed. This is just crazy.

Yup. Having that problem . Ping is around 9-10ms now its 40 -80
 
How would one know if ASSIA is enabled?

I know it cause my ping is 10-20 all the time on mweb bf4 impala now it's 40-60+

I get no packet loss or anything but can feel my ping is a bit higher. To capetown servers I get a ping of 100+.

Telkom must just scratch the whole idea of assia and go back to Fast Path

I hate that system with a passion. The fact that there is no quick and clear process to disable this via the Telkom support structure is ridicoulous.

In my previous 2 stints, took about 2 weeks for the correct dept to revert my line to full sync with no assurance ASSIA wouldn't kick in again. Only reason I've still got my sanity is that will be leaving Telkom in a coupla months for Vuma.

Well they took it off and now I get 10ms ping to BF4 impala server again. I wish assia will just die already. not good for me as a gamer

Who do you contact to get it off. The high ping is killing me.
 
I am also at my wits end with as well...

why fix something that's not broken...

and the worst part is you have to spend like 24 hours in total top get back to the way it was once the system drops it.

Sigh!!
 
Why have they even introduced this stupid crap system. It's ruining everyone's Internet. Telkom have literally taken 100 steps back. This system has done nothing good, only ruined the experience!
 
Recently on a few occasions I've noticed my line drop and resync at exactly 1:13 AM, always resetting the fastpath back to interleaving after one of the helpful guys @TelkomZA have helped me. Curious why it happens at that exact time, but any event, really frustrating and surely creating a lot of unnecessary work their side. It really needs a permanent solution soon
 
I have the same problem, my net will be fine for a week (after TelkomZA changed it to fast path), then at 1:13 AM normally on Monday it changed to interleaved and I am syncing at 16mb instead of 20 with lower upload and higher ping.

This has been happening now for over a year, but only recently became more and more frequent.
TelkomZA helps me out every time, but I find it a bit ridiculous that there issnt a quicker way to resolve it other than flooding TelkomZA's inbox with help me requests.

On the side note, how many non tech savvy people are getting charged for higher speed lines and now getting robbed of 1-4mbit of their throughput that they are not even aware of?
