Just a quick question, can anyone tell me if its possible to get ADSL installed in a flat? I am probably moving soon to a block of flats and dont think I can do without ADSL .

Anyone have any experience with this? Also how long does it take to get ADSL installed these days? I dont think I can take another 6 month wait like when I got it first installed!

If the landlord will allow it, yes. OR, if the landlord allows you to install your own telkom line, then it should be fine as well - if there is ADSL in the area. Best bet would be to check with telkom though.

It shouldn't be a problem. Each flat has its own line which runs to a telkom box somewhere nearby. I was hooked up within two days of ordering. The technie came to the flat a day later and checked the jacks, walked down the road to the box for a couple of minutes, came back and I could connect to my adsl account as soon as I had hooked up the router.

Nice to hear the techies are quick on getting ADSL users up and running fast these days. Back in the day when i signed up for ADSL, it took a good couple of months :D
