ADSL in Secunda, Trichardt, Evander

Our ADSL connection has been intermittent since June. Not only does it drop connection suddenly, it also slows down for a day or two then speeds up again for a little while if it remains connected.

Telkom reported exchange problems, lines dug up from construction and now routine maintenance. I think they're running out of excuses.

Hell-kom:twisted: sux, I wish someone would put up a WiMAX tower with its own dedicated lines to by-pass Hell-kom.

The irony of your post is that Telkom is the only real WiMax provider around. So you'd still be stuck with them.

Im also living in Secunda/Central(Behind Mini Pick and Pay).
I usually struggle to stay connected during peak traffic times from round about 17:00 to 23:00. My Router would show that it is connected to the internet but my PC will show limited connectivity/no internet connection. I would usually have to restart the router/modem several times untill I have a usable connection. This has been going on for the past two weeks or so.

Details:
I have a telkom 2Mb/s uncapped line with Afrihost.
I use a Belkin Router
I access the internet wirelessly through the router from my laptop or iphone.
