Adsl in the 'Platteland'

Lol, here is only one pc shop, run by a granny, but anyway. I'll ask her.
"Hallo tannie. Weet tannie of ons ADSL hier in Zastron kan kry?"
"More elL0L, wat se jy? Wat is hierdie HPSL ding waarvan jy praat?"

*elL0L drags himself out of the shop rather depressed*

I take no responsibilty for the damage inflicted by my poor usage of the Afrikaans language.

Haha, that is another difficulty. She is the only English person in town. Now I must first learn to speak the Rooinek language...
Clever emglish woman knows how to make money though :D

Do you think there will be ADSL in Rouxville? Or would it be Aliwal North?

I would say Aliwal more likely than Rouxville, but I doubt it.
Phone telkom though and ask, or find out on their site

Hi

I know basically nothing about Adsl. I live in the Free-State, in the town Zastron, in the middle of nowhere. I am considering the option of moving from Edge to Adsl 384kb. Okay, I don't think my exchange is enabled, but when I type in my number in the exchange checker in the Telkom website, they say that the service is unavailable. I sent a email to Telkom, but no response. Anyone knows if I can use anytype of broadband here, or when will it be possible?

A friend of mine lives in a small town in the Northern Cape, consisting of 1 hotel 2 "winkels" and a "place" to get petrol, and she has DSL, skype the whole package, on a telkom line.
I dont think there should be a problem for you.
