ADSL international connectivity problems

Accepted, however there are quite a few local ISP's that I can list that are dishonest and ambiguous in their dealings with the consumer. Have you ever tried obtaining contention ratios from any local ISP?

Best advice I can give to the consumer is:

Stay away from ISP's that utilise shaping and or utilise IS' backbone.

Out of interest, who are the ISP's not using IS' backbone?

I wish Telkom Internet would introduce competitively priced options, because when things are down or slow, I switch to my extra 1GB TI account and all is ALWAYS WELL. Telkom may be cr@p in every other department but their adsl account is top class.

Me too. With all the downtime on Afrihost/IS/Seacom, this cap is quickly exhausted.

WTF is going with the interwebz today? Everything is slow or failing to load intermittently, even local, even on Telkom Internet.

i need some advice/assistance here:
im on my 20 gb local from Telkom as ive used up the 5gb intl that i get.
since yesterday, the local has become super slow- i use it to dl youtube videos and its now useless.

also have a free gig from Afrihost & that seems to be working OK.
what is the problem?
what can i do to sort it out?

i dont want to see it get wasted.
