I have a Sitecom 54G router connected to a 384 ADSL line. Since I installed it, I have been experiencing intermittent problems with connectivity to the internet. The actual ADSL line stays up, but no interent access is possible. Telkom was my ISP and they kept sending techies to my house to no avail. In my mind, there could be 4 possible areas that affect this:
1. The ADSL line
2. The ADSL port in the Telkom exchange
3. My ISP
4. The actual router itself.

1. The line stays up and Telkom techs have tested it on numerous occasions - no problem
2. I requested Telkom to change the port, but it was never done and I don't know how to force them to do it.
3. Telkom was my ISP. I changed to another but have the same problem
4. I don't have a spare router to test with and I don't want to waste money by changing it if it is not the router.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions? .

2. Telkom can redo the port while you're on the line. Phone the heldesk again.

I have been on the line with Telkom on many occasions. All they do is reset / refresh the port. This does not help. They physically have to change the port ie move my line somewhere else, but I can't get them to do this.

Has any one else experienced anything like this?

if you require them to move the port you will have to log a line fault with the adsl line department on 0800375375
