Hi

This question might be answered somewhere else on the forum but my searches did not find anything.

I am considering ADSL in the near future and the question is what ISP to use. Price obviously is one issue but I am looking for one with good service if there is something like that in this country.

Or should I just get the whole thing from Telkom?

Thanks

I've just got ADSL.

I've used Telkom as one ISP but am still hunting for another for a second account.

I cant speak with authority on the issue but many recommend imaginet (R300). Mweb has a few bells and wistles BUT you pay for them dearly (R330). Many others run at R250.

If you are price conscious check out www.hellkom.com they list the cheapest ADSL isps.

I hope a few others can comment on other ISPs as I still need to get my second account. I would particularly like a fax receive service with the second account.

Give ODS a try, price wise there is not much diff, plus ODS also offers larger account to suit your needs. www.ods.co.za

have a look on www.hellkom.co.za there is a comaparision of costs there ...

as they all go through SAIX ne way go with cheapest/best or needed value add [proxy for when capped]

Imaginet is pretty good - sometimes it can be a little difficult to get stuff done with them but generally they're decent enough.

They're also pretty good if you predict that you'll be going over your 3GB cap often, because additional accounts are far less than any other ISPs.

its a new account, costs the same afaik.
