ADSL Issues - Randfontein

Hi,

Anyone on here staying in Randfontein and noticing the adsl being slow? Over the last month my line has degregated to a point where it's almost useless to me, very slow.

i have tested it with vox, afrihost, and all getting the same pathetic thru put.

Had a few times where it slows to a crawl and web pages can't even load, but surprisingly any connections that are already active(running downloads, youtube) went along without issues. I would say it was a DNS issue, but other programs that connect to a specific IP also 'lost' connection. This only happens for a few minutes before the connection is fine again.

On a slightly unrelated note, I often check the Telkom ADSL checker for what the fastest available speed is in the area - once it was 4Mbps, which went down to 2Mbps - right now it just says "Service not available"

strange thing is, that i when i use their coverage map, it pretty much says 10mb for the whole of randfontein, but we know thats a lie, as in greenhills the best i could get was 2megs. i seriously wish telkom would do something, as said before westonaria has vdsl.. and here we struggling with 2 meg lines! Ridiculous!
