line dropping

hey there

is your line not synching or is it just data transfer that's an issue?

there are a number of us having similar issues with our lines in the Rivonia/ Paulshof/ Sunninghill area of Johannesburg - are you in the area?

I'm in Kelvin, its next to woodmead/sunninghill . It started on sunday, my line first started giving alot of crc errors, started losing signal and now it only syncs for a few minutes and disconnects for a long time

ok... my line seems to stay synched 100% of the time, but pages are not loading etc and according to my ISP, my IP address is resetting every 5 minutes... so it sounds like a different issue. Good luck with telkom, but they're your best bet :-(

ive been having the same problem....
i'm in norscot though but im pretty near you

yeah, I just logged a fault and a technician will come check it out soon, I also realized that my line wasn't syncing at 4 megs but at around 3.5 megs for the past few days

We are also having the same problem here in Alberton, but ours is a business 4 mbps ADSL connection.

At the moment I have my 3G card plugged in so that I can actually get onto the internet... otherwise it just drops the line every few seconds!

My 512 connection at home (1 block away) seems to be fine though.

Weird!

Telkom says they have dropped us down to 3mbps to see if that will "solve" our problem.

a techie came to my house yesterday but my brother didnt know what the problem is, so unfortunately when he came it was working so the techie left, a few minutes later the line dropped and didn't connect till a couple of hours. I called them today and they should be coming around again, this is bs
