I need help before I phone Telkom again.
I have a E5104N2 ADSL Wireless Modem and a MWEB uncapped account. My problem is this:
I keep on losing internet connection for some strange reason. Well not strange, I start getting packet errors. Thing is the line would be fine for a day and then it will start dropping packets like crazy. See img Below, when this happens all I can do is reset/restart it.
The funny thing is that the DSL line stays connected and Upstream/Downstream stays the same. See http://i.imgur.com/QlC57.jpg
When I simply reboot the router its fine again for some time.
Now my question:
Who do I contact to fix this. Telkom would do the normal its your router routine and wants to charge for a call out. MWEB will tell me it s line problem, and I don't exactly have another Modem to swap out to see. Or is it a simple case of replacing filters?
Maybe someone here can be clued up to give me the path of least resistance to get this sorted?
