Adsl line not connecting

If you only connect your modem nothing else then you know nothing else is causing a fault then you can work from that base
Finding a fault is the elimination of possible causes until the cause is found

Yeah well if I plug in only my router and nothing else, it fails. If I plug in my phone and my router and take the phone off the hook, it connects, but the line noise is like 60db and it doesn't download anything.

Yeah it's verified, internet works perfectly when phone is off the hook. Im just going to get a telkom tech to completely redo our line.

Filters need to be fitted to every closed circuit on the telephone line except for your modem (this means fax's and telephones) The mere fact that you may be able to connect to the internet when you pick up your telephony handset is simply to do with the frequency interval change when you apply power to the handset which allows the open sync to go through while degrading voice quality.

I stress the fact: every closed circuit needs to have a filter on it. (ie. connect devices. )

If this does not solve the problem then you have an SNR/Attenuation problem or your ADSL line has not bee activated on Telkom's internal system(not the consumer activation).

Guys why does nobody believe this to be a high open fault? It has the exact symptoms of such a fault. And besides, I have filters, and even if I don't have anything plugged in but the adsl, it still doesn't work. It only works with a phone plugged in and off the hook. Now can somebody just give me a quick fix for a high open fault while I wait for telkom to fix the line. Currently I just dail the toll free number, which has a que of at least twenty minutes, and that means twenty minutes of internet.
