Since the introduction of telkom's 10mbps lines ,does anyone have an idea when we will get an upgrade on the basic standard 384kbps lines?

The answer is..... 42 !!!

i.e. nobody knows and everybody doubts it will be anytime soon! :D

Found it...

http://mybroadband.co.za/news/broadband/38597-telkom-to-offer-40mbps-broadband.html

Telkom confirmed that they will increase their broadband speeds to 40Mbps by 2015, and raise entry-level speeds to 2Mbps

Today (21 November 2011) Telkom published information that the company will launch 40Mbps broadband services by 2015 and increase the speed of their entry-level services to 2Mbps.

Telkom further said that they will offer “consistently more value (speed and caps) for the same price”.

This confirms speculation that Telkom was trialling 20Mbps and 40Mbps DSL services, where the 40Mbps VDSL connections will support (and be used to trial) video-on-demand services.

haha 2015 that is ridiculous, I had thought that since the 512 lines where upgraded to 1mb the least they would have done by now is upgrade 384 to 512.

thanx for the quick reply.

Never (imo).... think about it we are telkoms cash cow, most people I know run these lines in their homes for kids school projects etc. I even have my mail server sitting on one of these lines.
