ADSL Line Speed

Hi All,

Has something changed when it comes to ADSL Line speeds and how they are represented. I had a line problem sometime ago and since it was fixed I cannot get Axxess or Telkom to sync it back to what it was before. It was always 4mb/s down and 512kb/s up. Now it is 3.7mb/s down and 252 kb/s up. I queried it with Axxess and was told this:

"Good day

Line is syncing at 4mbps

Please note that adding the upload and download together will give you the 4mbps speed, as the download speed of 3.7mbps you receive indicates that your line is now syncing correctly"

Just want to make sure I am not missing something before I throw my toys.

Is that router stats or speedtests?
 
Router stats and according to the Axxess portal
 
We had a super chuckle about this in the office.

The answer they have provided you with is just utter nonsense and a complete lie.

Just what I thought - I just found it so ridiculous I had to check in case I'd missed something

Current Speed: 252 kbps
Signal Interference: 41 dB
Signal to Noise Ratio: 17.5 dB
 
That's from Axxess. Will get stats from my router when I get home. Just checked it with them though and they agree that it should sync at 4mb/s down and 512kb/s up (and that the previous message was "incorrect".
