Is it only telkom that does installations of ADSL lines ? is there no other company thats does this ?

I know its a stupid question but taking my chances maybe there is another choice.

thanks

Yes, but they might sub-contract the installation in some areas.

Neotel have a licence to provide fixed lines, but they are being very selective ATM.

Will only be possible on a larger scale once LLU has been implemented in SA.

have you requested Telkom to install? if so did you want the Self-Install?

According to a report on MyBB, Telkom installs 91% of it's ADSL request within 3 weeks or something like that. The Self-Installs are quicker.

Well I am obviously one of those sorry 9%, been waiting 3 years for my line.

thanks guys :)

i moved in to PTA recently and now need a new line installed as there is no phone line at home... the Self install that is only to connect modem up hey ?

Telkom said that i would have to wait 3 months before i can have service in my area

Funny thing here is my next door neigbour has adsl ??? WTF !

i live in menlyn.... so should be possible to get a connection asap ?

i had to wait a year for them to install the ADSL DSLAM in the klipriver area.
once that was in, i got my ISDN line converted to ADSL withing 1 day.

Could not get the self install option as they wanted thier hardware returned (ISDN) and then the fun a games started with the Router not being provided and the huge short supply of the billion modems......

Oh well lucky me or unlucky me i just bought a Iburst modem and antenna for 200 lol

should hold me a while until ADSL arrives
