Hi everyone

I'm looking for the lowest possible latency ADSL provider. Could users on fibre please post some traces to www.linx.net for me? We have an application which is not working satisfactorily over SAIX (shaped or unshaped), and we'd like to try some other options.

Thanks

One of the lines in our office is a 4 Meg DSL line which uses a business DSL account from Mweb. Our international latencies are normally pretty good. Ping results below.

Pinging www.linx.net [195.66.232.53] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 195.66.232.53: bytes=32 time=375ms TTL=49
Reply from 195.66.232.53: bytes=32 time=375ms TTL=49
Reply from 195.66.232.53: bytes=32 time=377ms TTL=49

Otherwise read the news article that was posted on My Broadband this morning about ODS's new uncapped solution with international latencies of 250ms

Claimed latency and what people get in reality are often two different things. Hence our problem now. :(

Haha, might want to try iBurst?

Well that's why you get service level agreements and monthly posted latencies that have to be within a certain limit. Most of the big business carriers do this, so your latency might have to be what they advertise.
